Originally built in 1697 La Plaine was a working farm until the last century. It is situated in a small village called Méouilles, which consists of only 4 houses , and overlooks the typical Provencal town of St André Les Alpes right on the edge of the beautiful Alpine Lac de Castillon (elevation 914km: population 832). With a small supermarket, three boulangeries, newsagents, hairdressers and restaurants, it is a living, working village that offers a warm, friendly welcome to both locals and visitors. St André Les Alpes and the surrounding area have been dubbed the region's 'great outdoors' and offer an unprecedented variety of outdoor activities most of which, because of the excellent climate Latest Weather, can be enjoyed all year round. It is also one of the world's top ten flying sites for paragliding and hangliding with a magnificent view of the Chalvet flying site from our garden. Both apartments have been fully modernised and have their own access and outdoor terraces offering spectacular sunset views over the surrounding mountains - the perfect location for a holiday with a difference.
